When a loved one is diagnosed with a terminal illness, it is often a close family member who assumes the role of caregiver — a role over approximately 40 million or more Americans fulfill. Caregivers, have a heart of compassion and tend to most of their loved one’s needs. Now you are homeless, you have no family member to assume the role of caregiver. Rather, you are at mercy of the streets or homeless shelter where there is no one to be a heart of compassion, or to help with your needs. Not because no one cares, the homeless is just another one in line that needs care. At the end of the line.
Medical Respite: is usually short-term care that allows individuals experiencing homelessness the opportunity to rest in a safe environment while medical care and other supportive services are given.
The way The Servant's Heart is helping out is to provide the room only in a safe environment and outsource the care to a Homecare Agenc Services or Hopsice center.
